Experience the Thrill of Bowl Skateboarding
Canada has a long history of changing skateboarding’s direction. We can go way back to Claude Jutra’s epic 1969 skateboard video, The Devil’s Toy (watch it here). The early skateparks of the late 70’s of which there are still two in Vancouver (Seylynn snakerun and China Creek skatepark) and the Halifax Commons (which is sadly being destroy but happily being replace with a better contemporary skatepark). Not to forget Canadian skateboard and snowboard innovators like Wee Willi Winkels and Louis Founier that completely change both industries. Even fashion has been effected, the workman wear trend of the early 90’s was started because of Montreal’s Sk8 Parc being located next to a clothing recycler and of coarse the Bones Bridge and Natas Kaupas visiting to globalize the trend. We have no illusions that the Canley Cup will change skateboarding forever but, we hope to help bowl skating grow in the eyes of skaters that just want to go out and have fun.
